Enjoy the last days of summer in support of a great cause! Cooking Up a Cure is a fundraising event combining Chicago’s greatest chefs, breweries, wineries and distilleries to raise money for the Scleroderma Foundation, Greater Chicago Chapter, which provides support, education and research to Scleroderma patients and their families. The culinary all-star dining event will be held on Thursday, September 15 with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 6:30 p.m. for general admission. The event will be chaired for the eighth time by Cleetus Friedman, Caffè Baci’s executive chef, and will be held at Galleria Marchetti at 825 W. Erie in Chicago.

Guests will indulge in culinary treats from the amazing line-up of over 20 local restaurants, as well as beer, wine and specialty cocktails. DJ, silent auction and other fun surprises will be in store. In addition, chefs will fire up the grills and serve BBQ in the beautiful outdoor courtyard with cigars and whiskey available for guests to enjoy.

Chicago restaurants and beverage companies include Ace Bounce, Atwood, Balena, Begyle Brewing, Carol’s Cookies, Candid Wines, Deep Eddy Vodka, FEW Spirits, Girl & the Goat, Heaven on Seven, Katherine Anne Confections, Lula Café, MK Restaurant, North Shore Distillery, Public House, The Radler, Smoke Daddy, Templeton Rye Distillery, Topolobampo, Two Brothers Brewing Co., White Oak Tavern, Vie and more! The night will consist of a silent auction, raffle, music and a generous sampling of food and drinks. All proceeds from the Cooking Up a Cure event will support the Scleroderma Foundation’s ongoing mission of providing support, education and research for scleroderma patients and their families.

Early Bird General Admission: Available at $105 through July 8, includes entry at 6:30 p.m. and access to chef creations from the amazing line-up of restaurants as well as beer, wine and specialty cocktails.

General Admission: $125, includes entry at 6:30 p.m. and access to chef creations from the amazing line-up of restaurants as well as beer, wine and specialty cocktails.

VIP Tickets: $185, includes entry at 5:30 p.m. and a special tasting menu from renowned chef Phillip Foss of EL Ideas, a restaurant that has earned three Jean Banchet award nomincations including Chef of the Year, Restaurant of the Year and Best Restaurant Service. VIP tickets also include reserved table seating for the evening and additional hour-long reception and first look at the silent auction table.

VIP Table for 8: $1,500, includes entry at 5:30 p.m. and all the benefits of general admission and VIP listed above, plus a reserved table for eight people.

Scleroderma is considered an autoimmune disease that varies widely across persons and can be life threatening. This disease causes thickening and tightening of skin, and in severe cases, also hardens internal organs. Scleroderma means “hard skin” in Latin. This disease affects 300,000 people in the U.S. who are predominately women. There is currently no cure for Scleroderma.
