Aside from a few hot days, this Chicago summer hasn’t really felt like summer! But that doesn’t stop Angelic Organics Learning Center and Bread & Wine from hosting awesome summer events featuring great food, beer, cocktails & more!

Celebrate the beginning of August with the fun events listed below!

Angelic Organics Learning Center 2013 Farm Dinner

Saturday, August 3rd

Angelic Organics Learning Center is excited to celebrate its 15th Anniversary with the 6th Annual Peak Harvest Farm Dinner benefit on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Angelic Organics Farm (1547 Rockton Rd, Caledonia, IL 61011) near Rockford, Illinois. Guests will enjoy a gourmet five-course seasonal meal made from fresh, sustainable and locally sourced ingredients in the beautiful fields of Angelic Organics. The meal will be prepared by some of the region’s most recognized chefs, including Paul Virant of Vie and Perennial Virant, Chris Pandel of The Bristol and Balena,  Jason Hammel of Lula Café, Paul Fehribach of Big Jones, Scott Manley of Table, Donkey and Stick and Johnny Anderes of Reno and Telegraph. The dinner will feature beers from New Holland Brewery and cocktails from Koval Distillery.

This farm dinner is an opportunity for guests to learn more about Angelic Organics Learning Center and its work to build the local food system throughout the region.

Chicago radio personality Mike Nowak, host of “The Mike Nowak Show” on Chicago’s Progressive Talk at 8:20 a.m., will serve as our emcee. All proceeds support Angelic Organics Learning Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that brings urban and rural people together to build our local food system.

Tickets:

Optional Bus Ticket & Cocktail Reception: The event starts in Chicago with a pre-event reception at Balena, featuring seasonal appetizers and beverages. A shuttle bus will transport Chicago residents to the event. The cost for the pre-event reception and bus ticket is $25.

VIP Ticket: 5-course meal featuring hors d’oeuvres, soup, salad, entree and dessert, plus your choice of wine or beer pairings with each course and a signature cocktail during cocktail hour. $150

Basic Ticket: 5-course meal and BYO beverages to enjoy with your meal.  $100.

 Bread & Wine Beer Brunch with Goose Island

Sunday, August 4th

11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Bread & Wine, the neighborhood American restaurant, wine bar and market on Chicago’s Northwest Side, is excited to partner with Goose Island Beer Co., a staple in the Chicago craft beer scene, for a delicious beer brunch! Chef Michael Dean Reynolds, a recent addition to the Bread & Wine team, has created a 4-course meal to pair with the popular Goose Island vintage beers. This menu is the perfect combination of sweet and savory for guests to enjoy while sipping on the delicious ales.

The beer brunch is $40, tax & tip not included & reservations are required. Email [email protected] to make reservations. The restaurant will be open for regular dinner service before, during and after the 20-seat only beer brunch.
