Tribes Beer Company to Double Production
Tribes Beer Company, one of Chicagoland’s premiere craft beer bars with a recently-opened brewery, is excited to double its production with the addition of three new 15-barrel tanks and a 15 BBL Brite tank. The brewery will double its volume and be at 100 barrels in capacity, allowing Tribes to expand its availability in Chicagoland, with head brewer David Kerns at the helm. The system has been installed and the expanded production began at the end of October.
“I am so excited to see the fantastic response to our beer,” says owner Niall Freyne. “When I took this leap of faith earlier this year, I had no idea we would receive such a positive response from the beer community and our loyal customers. I am thrilled to take this next step so we can keep up with demand!”
Tribes Beer Company is devoted to making beer people like and will order again and again. The brewery has created a line of “beers that make sense,” including, Ol’ Tango Dark IPA, Ol’ Bender Hoppy Brown, Craft’d IPA, Lincoln-Way Rye, Rebel Monk Belgian IPA and Teamwork Coffee IPA. In addition, David has hit the nail on the head from day one with brews that excite hop-heads with hop-forward varieties such as the Big Twin Double IPA and the already-sought-after Zero To 100 Imperial IPA. “I just love making beer that people will enjoy,” says Kerns. “I think it’s great that the demand for our beer has been so high in such a short period of time. The expanded production will allow us to experiment more and create more of the beers we’ve been dedicated to brewing since the beginning—straight forward, but creative brews.”
The brewery opened adjacent to the Mokena craft beer bar in May 2015, with a 7-barrel system in a 2,000 square foot space. Currently, Tribes Beer Company brews are available at both Tribes locations in Mokena and Tinley Park and has limited availability at a selection of craft beer bars throughout Chicagoland, including: Au Cheval, Farmhouse, Haymarket, Kaiser Tiger, Haywood, Timothy O’Toole’s and more.
