Half Acre Night at Bar on Buena

Time: 7 p.m.
Who/What: Kick off Chicago Craft Beer Week a day early with The Bar on Buena’s salute to Half Acre! $4 pints of Half Acre Pony Pils will be available during CCBW, but at this event, The BOB will be tapping some extra special Half Acre offerings. Beer Under Glass at the Garfield Park Conservatory with Forbidden Root

Date: Thursday, May 15
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Who/What: Held at the Garfield Park Conservatory, guests can enjoy the space at night while sipping inventive brews from some of Chicagoland’s hottest craft breweries, including Forbidden Root! Popular local restaurants will serve up tasty small plates. Beer Under Glass is the opening event for Chicago Craft Beer Week – don’t miss it!

Local Cask Day at Fountainhead

Date: Saturday, May 17
Time: 12:00 p.m.
Who/Where: The time is approaching for one of Fountainhead’s favorite events of the year! It is a celebration of two of the best things—local breweries and cask beer! Casks will be available both upstairs and downstairs. All in all, guests will be able to get some great cask beer from some great local breweries on both floors until the casks run dry! All casks are tapped at noon and this is a non-ticketed event, so anyone can head in and hoist a glass or two of fantasticness.

Pizza Rustica Celebrates CCBW with Temperance Beer Company

Date: Saturday, May 17
Time: 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Who/What: Pizza Rustica is excited to celebrate Chicago Craft Beer Week with a Craft Beer Lunch featuring outrageously delicious brews from Temperance Beer Company! Guests can sit and sip on free tastings with Head Brewer Claudia Jendron and nibble on amazing small plates and delicious lunch specials created by Chef Stefano Roman to pair perfectly with the beers. The afternoon event is a laid-back, fun opportunity to enjoy some incredible beers and delicious dishes. In addition, there will be fun games and prizes from Pizza Rustica and Temperance: The Grand Prize is a Temperance Beer Co. Tour for 10 people! There is no cover for the event, samples will be given out for free & the full beers and menu items will be available for purchase.

12% Imports Featuring Against The Grain & Evil Twin @ The Bar on Buena

Time: 2 p.m.
Who/What: The Bar on Buena is celebrating Chicago Craft Beer Week with some rare beers from Against the Grain Brewery and Evil Twin Brewing, thanks to friends at 12% Imports. Most beers will be available all day but from 2 p.m.-4 p.m., guests can hang out with one of the brewers from Louisville, KY’s Against the Grain. Who/What: Held at Jerry’s in Wicker Park, this panel discussion will take an in-depth look at the role of branding, design and marketing in craft beer. Panelists include Tony Magee from Lagunitas, Randy Mosher from 5 Rabbit/Forbidden Root, Michael Kiser from Good Beer Hunting, Phineas X. Jones from Half Acre, Paul Schneider from Solemn Oath and Dan & Katie Perkins from Kaper Design with moderator Kim Leshinski from Hail to the Ale.

Wake Up Dead Nitro Bottle Release Party at Bar on Buena

Date: Tuesday, May 20
Time: 7 p.m.
Who/What: The perfect event for beer geeks everywhere, The Bar on Buena is excited to welcome Left Hand Brewing Company and Windy City Distributing or a Wake Up Dead Nitro Bottle Release Party! Left Hand has magically nitrogenated the Wake Up Dead Russian Imperial Stout and put it in bottles. While beer lovers may never know exactly how they achieved such a wondrous feat, it is ready to be enjoyed in celebration of Chicago Craft Beer Week. Who/What:The Bar on Buena> is proud to be a gracious host of the Lakeshore BeverageChicago Craft Beer Week Tavern Trolley Tour Pub Crawl! The featured local brewer for this stop on the tour is a close friend of BOB’s, Noah Hopkins from Local Option! While the trolley only stops briefly, the beer is pouring all night. Guests can some brews from the special Local Option Bierwerker draft line, ask Noah questions about hops, malts, metal bands—or just thank him for making delicious beer. It’s Time for a Crabbie’s Night at Pizza Rustica

Time: 5 p.m.
Who/What: Pizza Rustica will host “It’s Time for a Crabbie’s Night” featuring Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer as they launch the newest flavor, Spiced Orange! Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy complimentary tastings of the already popular Original and the new Spiced Orange. Pizza Rustica mixologists will craft a variety of Crabbie’s cocktails such as: Dark & Stormy, Brown & StormyFoghorn, Moscow Mule, Mexican Mule, the Spiced Mule and two new cocktails created for the Spiced Orange launch: the Spiced Rye and the Spiced Berry. In addition to Pizza Rustica’s menu of rustic northern Italian cuisine, Chef Stefano Roman will offer a special al a carte “Crabbie’s Time” menu for those who wish to have a bite with their ginger beer. The delectable offerings will include two appetizers, two entrees and two desserts inspired by and cooked with both Original and Spiced Orange.

Time: 1 p.m.
Who/What: The city’s largest craft beer outdoor block party will commence on May 24th featuring craft beer, hours of entertainment and food for purchase. The Chicago Craft Beer Week celebration of neighborhoods ends in the heart of the West Loop & this event gives the chance for all neighborhoods to come down and celebrate the craft beer experience and taste some Forbidden Root brews!
